Post by Swamp Fox »

Hello everyone

Drafted army Sept.3 1969 assigned Vietnam March 5 1970 and honorably discharge 1971 . My MOS was 57 H 20 and in Vietnam I was assigned to the 372 transportation company . I am not a combat veteran although I received hazardous duty pay while in Vietnam .

Now , if ?I?m welcome here , I like to post an article I?ve written called ( Insight of a Bull's Eye )

Drafted? Ya really expect anyone to believe ya?

Well bless my soul, I know a few that got drafted, like more than half my neighborhood in 1968 including me. but I guess I got lucky and was given an 11B MOS. Ya had a bad case of luck. The draft ended in 1970.

Thank you for your service and welcome home. But you do realize this is Army Ranger.com. You're welcome here, but be careful with posting your article. Believe it or not, there's not much you can contribute to this crowd of warriors. Some of these guys are on their third combat tour. A lot are senior NCOs and some are officers. You can learn a lot on this site and in the forums, but realize that there's little you can probably contribute. Do yourself a favor and stick around awhile before you post your article. I wouldn't want you giving us Viet Nam vets a bad name. Post at you own risk.
WE NEED MORE RANGERS!

Welcome.

This site is open to all members of the military. You name it and we probably have 'em.

Realize that this is an AO that your probably not use too. This site works a whole lot different that most.

Please read the FAQ's and Site Rules and follow them.

And you also need an avatar. This also goes for those of you that read this and don't have one already. This is something that is expected of all members.

Although you are a Veteran, I am reserving my "Welcome to ArmyRanger.com" for a future timeframe.

Your intro was crap and you didn't follow the FAQ's when you addressed one of our verified members.

Get in line with the site SOP's and I will extend a warm welcome to you!

Well gentleman , I?d like to thank those of you that have given me a warm welcome . However , I decided this place did not for me , if were no other reason , less than five minutes after starting this discussion , someone PM with the statement below saying it was very dangerous taking screen name of Swamp Fox (Francis Marion) and suggested deleting this thread

?Taking the name of Francis Marion, a legendary Ranger, is a very very dangerous thing to do here. I suggest deleting your thread and PM'ing Ranger Silverback to change your name? .

Well I?ve never heard very good at taking orders , so take care.

I need to ask the same thing ....why have you decided to use The name "Swamp Fox". Marion is considered second only to Robert Rogers in Ranger History, and, almost moreso than Rogers, his TTP's have been extensivley studied.

Being from SC I am very interested as too why?

I was thinking the same thing, being from S.C. myself.

But if he's going to put his tail between his legs and run, he aint no Swamp Fox!
