SNIPE!

I am hoping to get an option 40 contract when I enlist. So that means I will go to basic, AIT, airborne, and then RIP. I also want to be a sniper. Would I do this after I attend ranger school (if the powers that be say so) or would I get to go before? Is there a need for ranger snipers?
