So by the time you see this note, you should have had your tab pinned on. This is not a time for you to be patting yourself on the back and telling yourself what a stud you are. Rather, iI want you to do some sober reflection and introspection. You got into the course by the efforts of some fine Ranger sergeants. You graduated somewhere in the middle of the class. Now you are off to be a platoon leader, so this is what is expected of you -- do your job. Set the example. Lead your platoon. Be tactically and technically correct. Be firm but fair. Nothing magic, just a lot of hard work. There is no greater privilege than to lead American Soldiers in combat.
