Shipping out tomorrow
Rangers, Veterans, DEPs and DSOYR women,
I'd like to thank you for everything you've done for me up to now. I can say without a break in stride that the guidance given here on the board has been invaluable. Thank you very much for continuing to help out us young DEPs.
I would like to especially thank Ranger Ingraham, and SFC Hit_It for mentoring me and getting me squared away in these few short weeks. You've been outstanding role models and I wouldn't be in a position to succeed if it weren't for your willingness to help me. Thank you.
I'll be shipping wednesday morning, but this will be one of my last posts here on ArmyRanger.com as a DEP. Rangers, you have set the bar high for me and I will give 100% and then some to exceed your expectations.
GorD Out.
"There is a small difference between good and great. Those who are good, think they will succeed. Those who are great, expect success."

Good luck. Never quit and stay focused till your goal is reached. That should mean you will always be focused as each goal achieved makes
room for the next goal.

Good luck GorD. Please keep us up to date as you go through training. With any luck, you'll have the chance to meet the Kilted one at Benning School for Boys.

Short sitrep-
I'm home on Emergency leave because my Grandfather passed away.
I just wanted to give a short sitrep while i'm home to let everyone know how its going.
We've gotten all our gear issued, I made it into Bravo 1/19. I saw Kadgarth before shipping downrange, hes a little guy..we didn't have much time to talk because the Drill's were yelling at everybody.
Week 1 isn't that bad, lots of smoke and not that much training. We're doing first aid stuff. I've got a shitty battle buddy..the guy has RIP in his contract and is a fuck off. Non-athletic. Most everybody I've met from my platoon who has RIP is trying to get out of it. Fuck them. Only me and another guy are intent on making it to Batt. We do PT together in the barracks after lights out and during our firegaurds.
We saw some Rippees today before chow doing pullups and every dude in my platoon was like "Oh wow, look at those Rangers!!" It was kind of funny.
All my DS's like me, sans one who doesn't like anyone. The Platoon is pretty squared away, but we have that too many chiefs and not enough indians complex. I've learned to not argue with them and just lead by doing instead of talking. Its funny how many people can say "hey, make sure the lights get turned off before formation" and it never gets done.
Thats about it, not much to say and i've been long winded as it is.
Thanks again for all the advice Rangers.

Sheeyit.
Sorry I missed this - but more properly; Sorry about your Grandfather.
(Mine also died while I was at basic, a WW1 infantry vet)
Glad to see you linked up with someone of like mind - let your strength grow off the legs weakness!
Competition is a way of life in the Reg - let you & your Opt40 bud always try to outdo the other.
Sounds like you're enjoying the good part - the suck!
Get those run times down & stay focused.
