SITREP Jump Week

Post by Barrett88 »

Well today was our first jump. It went really well, we got lucky and jumped from the roomy C 17(they are fucking huge). We jumped hollywood of course for our first jump and landed in on Fryar Drop zone. The weather was perfect and I didnt land hard at all. Airborne School is a breeze. You might get a few aches and pains in your knees from double timing everywhere but thats the hardest part by far. They dropped 58 people the first day we took the PT test but if they were in shape it should have been cake. The runs are pathetic, you need to workout at night if you want to keep in shape, there is a real nice gym thats only a little bit away which is a good place to workout. Tomorrow we jump with a combat load and another hollywood, then wednesday we jump twice, once at night and once during the day. After graduation on Friday we get sent to RIP hold until January when the next class starts most likely. But thats alright because it'll be nice to get in shape and prepare for RIP. I'll post again when I have time. Thanks again to all the Rangers for this site.

Congrats on defeating gravity! You'll enjoy the night jump. Keep it up and hit the gym. Don't lose focus over the Holidays.

Just wait for the run from Jump School to RIP. It's special. Keep moving foward, Bud.

I then asked the Lord: "Why was there only one set of footprints?"
He answered: "The terrain was beginning to constrict and our hit time was coming close. So I put us in a Ranger file."

I graduated with Barret88. We've been together since day one at 30th AG. Guess we're a ArmyRanger.com DEP buddy team--yeah that sounds fucking gay. All the information on here was real helpful during OSUT and jump school. I do have one question for all the current Rangers on here and hopefully one who knows about RIP dates. We've keep getting mixed information. What is the chance of us starting before Christmas and also is there a pack list. I've heard tales of people being dropped from a course for not having lip balm when it was on the list. I dont want anythgin that dumb to fuck me. Any final hints are always welcome.
