E5 is the best rank in the Army from what I heard from the older and wiser BTDT. I had a ton of fun as an E5. You are above the majority of the bullshit and you get recognition when you speak to the higher-ups. That is as long as you are a role-model NCO. Remember that now you have to have your shit together or it will really hurt your image!
