need help with the mbitr

Post by CRAIG275 »

Hey Fellas, I need some help with the mbitr. I left 2/75 right when we got these. I'm in Stryker land land now and these are new to all the Squad Leaders minus two or three. We are getting the peltor ( spelling?) headsets, not sure how I feel about these. What are some other options I can acquire to help with the everlasting ordeal known as communications? Thanks for all your help.................Craig275

Other options? Other than the peltors or the radios?

I didn't think about the heat, they might suck after all.

Except for their lack of ventalation, they really are awesome tools! Makes communicating during a firefight VERY easy! (also helps you spy on the COC and gather info (power) if you turn them up real loud....shhhh!

What in theee fuck are you blabbering on about?!!
I am blabbering on about my training and combat experience with a product that you are just now getting issued in Stryker Land!
They are VERY useful with a radio! You can have your radio integrated inside your headset and still hear amplified outside noise as well.

As a side note, I was trying to joke around and let you know that we used to use them all of the time to listen in on conversations. We had members of our COC that would try to be secretive with info (information is power) and we would be able to sit fairly far away and hear what they were saying.

I was trying to give you first hand experience with a question that you had about something that you obviously had NO experience with!
If you ever would like info on radios/comm. systems again (ask any of the snipers from 1st Batt., I am definetly the man to talk to) don't hesitate to ask because I am more than willing to help, but don't disrespect me either.

Sorry CRAIG175, I got all worked up after my status as a ranger was called into question in a PM. My last reply was to Tenn-RGR, not you. Should've checked my facts better.

Are you talking to me or TR?

If your talking to me, ya' I'm out of the Ranger Business right now.

If your talking to TR, He's walking the walk everyday, and has BTDT numerous times. And just might have worked with the equipment in this topic. He might have even tested it. I know that I have spent time around equipment that has been tested.

It's a good idea to sit back and learn who and what your talking about. TR isnt in Stryker Land!

Yeah, I know I fucked up. I appologized in a PM. I didn't look at the names on my PM vs. the names in the topic and I ended up getting everyone confused.

I plan on hearing about this one for a while...

The PELTORS are good while mounted, keeps outside noise out of the way of your coms.

I always liked the hand mike for walk about shit. Some folks say that it's hard to hear which direction incoming small arms is coming from with the head set on.

It's good for helo ops, plug into helo with head phones, unplug from bird, plug into radio on your kit as LZ approaches.

It takes some doing to get them to fit under a MICH without giving you a good case of the brain pain.
