Introduction

Post by AKAMatt »

Rangers,

My name is Matt. I currently live outside of Chicago, Illinois. I graduated from The University of Alabama in 2003 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Since then I have been employed as a theft and fraud investigator for one the major retailers in the United States.

I just finished putting together my OCS packet and I am hoping to be branched infantry. My second choice is Armor.

I began preparing for BCT and OCS two months ago.
Last week I took my first full PT test. I maxed out the pushups and situps and ran a 13:34 Two mile. My goal is to my run time down to 12:30 before I ship.

I will meet with local Battalion OCS board on the 22nd of June. If accepted I would like to ship in 6 months. I will spend that time getting myself physically prepared.

I have been viewing the posts on this site for the last two months and have learned a great deal in that time.

I am very excited about joining the military. It has been on my mind for quite some time now.

I will not be posting much. I prefer to sit in the shadows and learn all that I can.

I want to thank all of you for your service and for allowing people like myself to come here and learn.

Matt
