A few months ago my daughter, then 3, and I were walking through the store. It was packed. All of a sudden, my daughter hollers out, "Mommy, why does that lady have a mustache?" I was totally embarrassed, but I recovered. I told her how it was not polite to say that, and how some women have hormonal imbalances and they grow hair where they are not supposed to. That satisfied her. -- Cut to recently. We go as a family to visit with my dad. My aunt and a cousin were there too. My dad brings up the topic of how kids say and do the damndest things, sooooo I decide to tell him the mustache incident. Everyone laughed and then my dad shoots me a glance. For whatever reason I turn to look at my aunt, and her 'stache is longer than 289's! (How I missed it, go figure.) As I'm dying of embarrassment, she starts to go on about it to him about how she trims it and everything. He's just sitting there with this deer-in-the-headlights look and my cousin's falling out of his seat. Then Andi (our girl) says, "Mustache's aren't for girls, they're for boys!" Needless to say the subject changed real quick, while I removed my foot from my throat.
