Well, so much for being in a good mood.

How hard is it to simply not join? I know we've had this discussion in another forum recently, but come on! DON'T JOIN!! When did we stop killing wartime deserters anyway? I'm free this weekend...

I had a soldier go AWOL right before he was supposed to go to Afghanistan. Didn't see his ass for 31 days. I did all the bullshit: Cleared him off Bragg, had him DFR, talked to his Old Man about what bad things were currently happening to his son, etc. Finally, after not getting his paycheck (this always brings them in) he crack-ridden ass shows up. Being his Section Sergeant, 1SG asks me what I want done to this guy. I tell the 1SG that this POS went AWOL to miss movement to a combat zone, then deserted the U.S. Army in wartime. I want him executed First Sarn't. I get that "he's got a penis growing out of his fucking forehead!" look. You all know the one. Well, long story short, it doesn't seem that we execute deserters anymore and that if you want to desert in this day and age (well, at least Aviation), all you're going to get is a general discharge.

I love and support pacifists for the same reason I support anarchists. Once they rule the world I'm going from continent to continent to take their women and all their booze! Join the "resitance resitance", send all these guys letters of support, send them money and hopefully they will create a generation of pacifists and anarchist, so our grazing area will never be limited. Hell the planet always needs more victims!

Ranger The Holmchicken,

You only get a general discharge now? That is so f'd up!

Some funnies from the letters:

"Everyone I know here in France who has heard the story about you and Jeremy Hinzman fully supports both of you" Big suprise..

We had a fuckhead go AWOL and they caught his ass. He ended up serving some time. I cannot believe how fucking retarded these people are. I love the " I can sign a contract but if I don't wanna do it i shouldn't have to" attitude kids how now

"a soldier has the responsibility to refuse an order that he knows to be wrong." No fucker it is called an "Unlawful order" not a "I don't feel like it" order.

They should send these fucks to manditory time in the French Foreign Legion or 2 years in a federal-fuck-them-in-the-ass-prison.

*edit* I clicked on the "make a donation " for shits and giggles and it says
"Brandon's lawyer wants to bring in international experts, and while Jeffry is waiving much of his legal fees, this cost alone will be tremendous. In addition, Brandon came to Canada with only two duffel bags of personal effects.

Your support is crucial and very much appreciated. All funds donated will be held in trust, and financial information is available on request.
We're also more than happy to accept donations by mail to P.O. Box 23056, Midtown Post Office, St. Catharines, Ontario, L2R2J8. Cheques can be made payable to Brandon Hughey in trust."

Too bad I'm on call this weekend, haven't been to Canada yet, might not be a bad idea for a road trip

From Jeremy Hinzman's FAQ's:

1. Why did you join the Army if you never wanted to fight?

"When I enlisted in the Army, I won't deny that I was thinking in a pragmatic manner. However, just because I enlisted, I didn't abdicate my ability to evolve intellectually and morally, which I did as result of the circumstances I found myself involved in."

Translation: "I enlisted for the bonus, college money and benefits. However, once I found out my ass was going to war I said fuck that, I got to get out of this somehow".

Rangers, I was under the impression that it was no longer an option for soldiers to flee AWOL to Canada because the Canadian Government will no longer take them. Did I miss something, because I could have sworn that I saw that on the news, because I distinctly remember my brother said if there was ever a draft he was going to have to go to Mexico. ( Yes, thats the kind of family I live in. Sad when you learn that both of my Grandfathers participated on D-Day. )

You should know that throat-punching is never an optiont when speaking with civilians...Expecially if that civiliam has been paying your way for the last 17 years...You fucking punk! Your Father is entitled to his opinion and your young upstart ass doesn't have anything to say about it until you are making your own way into the world. Then take leave and throw his skirt over his head!

Der Professor wrote:By the way, why are all of you Rangers into throat punching people? What ever happened to a nice ball-peen hammer to the forehead?
I'll try to explain it...You see when involved in an altercation there are a number of steps you can take to let the other person know how things are going to go, I'll break 'em down by level of effect.

1. Talking shit: This lets the other person know that the matter is still open for discussion.

2. Pushing: This tells the other person that you are not committed to violence and the matter is still open for discussion

3. Punch to the body: This tells the other person that you are capable of violence but unwilling to render a disabling blow.

4. Punch to the head/flace: This tells the other person that you are capable of violence but does not send the ultimate "Shut the Fuck up"

5. Throat Punch: This tells the other person that the incident is over and further alerts them to the fact that they are dealng with a Ranger and further resistance is not only futile but completely ineffectual.

Not too mention the look on someone face when they get throat punched is....Funny
