Ranger Spartan, I believe that is because a lot of people code Java incorrectly. People have gotten into the habbit of coding Java specifically so it works best on IE, because that is what 90% of the consumers use. Coders got into the norm of coding for IE specifically, and the makers of Firefox and other browsers have been trying to make their browswers compatible so that it works correctly even though it is coded incorrectly.

Also, another good thing to remember is that most of these new browsers ( ie: Firefox, Avant, Kmelon, and others ) are still pretty new, and with time they will certinly get better.
