I would have laughed him out of the building except this dude kept $8 million in his checking account, so I humored him. We made a big production of taking the money out of his account on Sept. 8th, put it in a cashier's check, and placed the check in a safe deposit box in the vault, all under his supervision.
Just before Dec. 31st we went through the whole process again for him. After New Year's, when everything turned out okay, I learned I was the only banker who humored him out of all the other banks where he had accounts. He brought another $2 million to my bank from the competition in appreciation and closed his accounts with them.
