Save the date—2011 Ranger Rendezvous scheduled

When scheduling flights for this, keep in mind that American now has 2 flights a day that are direct to Columbus from Dallas/Fort Worth.
Less options on travel times, but much less hassle than going through ATL. If you factor in the shuttle from Atlanta to Columbus ($60 round trip) there's not usually a ton of difference in price.

Both times I have been before I flew into Columbus, via Atlanta and both time I had trouble. First time the flight from Atl to Col was about three hours late. Last time they canceled the flight from Col back to Atl and took us by bus. Barely made my connection. This time I am flying into Atl and renting a car. Arriving Sunday and leaving Sunday if anyone wants to link up in Atlanta. (At least I didn't ruin a tire!)(Or forget my registration)

I was just suggesting flying directly into Columbus via DFW, with no connection in ATL. Cutting out Atlanta is big plus.
I'm glad my idiocy hasn't been forgotten, I'd be disappointed if you failed to point it out! :D

As far as a BBQ, let me see what we can do. My place is pretty small and filled with short people. Let me think about hosting options and I'll post something in the back room for discussion.

Oh, you are most welcome my friend. I too was making the point that missing Atl. would be good. I couldn't get a good schedule or price when I checked so I decided to just rent a car in Atl.

In the past, I've flown into Atlanta and rented the car there and drove to Columbus. The rental doesn't cost any more to do it in Atlanta and, with the way people drive in Georgia, it's only about an hour and a half to Columbus and that puts you there sooner than flying from Atlanta.

What are you doing this year, riding with me????

The HH6 and I are taking the new travel trailer and starting out 10 days early and meandering across the Country. We're going to stay at the Lake Pines Campground and RV Park just outside Columbus. Financially, it's about a push with flying and renting a car and a room, even with the discount. And driving will be a LOT more fun! I figure I should sober up somewhere around Abuequerque on the way back!
