Welcome young man! Thanks for you desire to serve our great country. If you will look, listen and pay attention to details, you can get a lot of help here.

And I never will, unless I become a part of it. And that really excites me. I want to be part of Ranger history and tradition, I want to experience things that people back home will never even think about, I want to sweat, bleed, and keep going, I want to give back to the country that's been home for half my life. I want to be the sheepdog.
Well, all right then. Your introspection is commendable. Most young men have no idea just how little they really know. I have often commented that "life was a lot easier when I had all the answers." As has been mentioned earlier, this site will give you a lot of answers to the questions you raise for yourself. Your comments show that you are interested in making your way into the Ranger Regiment. Please allow me to point out that you are about to enter a very small world. Already you may have noticed that quite a few of the members here at ArmyRanger.com have served with one another over the years. That's one of our positive qualities. We go to great efforts to ensure that everyone is vetted properly. At the same time, I want to remind you that you are the one who must earn and maintian your place in the Regiment. You are a go at this station. Never, never quit!

[quote="tehwooty"]Ranger Jim:

My desire to be a part of the military was sparked at a young age. Converting golf clubs into M16s and playing with G.I.J.O.E.'s all the time. My parents figured it was just a phase, but I guess they were wrong.

Child's play turned into adolescent fascination with SOF and the like, and I had much admiration for the men that make up the community. I read up on the Rangers a lot, and I learned that the majority are young men, whereas a large portion of SF guys are a bit older. At first I thought it all looked “coolâ€
