I've talked to my recruter and she's already working on getting me a Ranger contract. I'm hoping to possibly get a 96B with option 40. But 11X is probably what it's going to end out being. Which is great because I want to end up in the Rangers. So thanks again for the advice. This time around I'm not going to be a pussy. I know EXACTLY what I want and I'll take no less.

Not much else to call someone who got talked into something other than a Ranger contract. I went in there knowing what I wanted but got talked into 25Q, which is a good MOS, but it won't get me into Rangers. No one to blame but me for not looking up all the stuff I needed. This time I'm sticking to my guns. Or whatever else needs sticking.

Who am I susposed to fuck in the ass? My recruiter or my liason (recruiter was a girl but the liason wasn't)? Hopefully not myself. I'm not that flexable. And Ranger Bell I almost spit water all over my screen when I read that.

EDIT: To anyone who can answer this, I just found out I'm going in at 6 tomorrow morning. Just wondering that since this is renegotiating that I HAVE to take something now or if I can hold out for option 40 like I want. My recruiter didn't know. If not I guess I'll have to bluff and see where it lands me.

Personally? I'd hold out. Ignore the threats. You now know what you want and plan on getting it. Then I'd go fuck that recruiter in the ass.

Just got back. I talked to the liason and I told him flat out I woudln't take anything unless it had a Ranger contract on it. He made a few calls and I got it. 11X Option 40. I leave on the 6th of January. I guess I got to get started on that running. :) Thanks for the help guys. And Ranger Bell she smiled pretty big. :D like that.

Oh and he told me about option 70. He explained it pretty well. Pretty much SF will contact you when you reach E4 and ask if you still want to "try out". I told him no thanks. The only thing I want on my mind is RIP. Then not fudging it up in Bat. (hopefully I get the chance not to) So thanks again. I'm going to change my name since I'm not 25Q anymore. Probably gonna be Mormon_Fiend.

i enlisted a OPT 40 guy today on a fluke. he wanted finance, but it wasn't available. my recruiter had to sell him something on the floor so he wouldn't walk out. he chose infantry.

when he gets back to the office from MEPS i look at his contract and low and behold "US ARMY AIRBORNE RANGER". i almost puked.

he won't make it. another lost slot.
