Will a Ranger mentor a zoomie

Post by avidwanderer »

Hello Rangers, I would like to know if there is a Ranger on this board who would be willing to mentor a zoomie. I have already completed Pre-Ranger and should be able to get a Ranger slot after October (the new fiscal year is what will make this happen).

Strengths: Running, Rucking, pushups, and situps.

Weaknesses: Night Land Nav, I am in the air force--that means I am not an infantryman and am not as experienced as a joe going into this school. I had to learn everything about infantry that I could at pre-ranger on the run.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thanks Rangers!

I would strongly suggest getting a lensatic compass, find a compass course or make your own, and practice practice practice.

Just knowing how to do it isn't enough. Some guys can do it well and others suck no matter how hard they try.

Ya gotta practice. Check and see if an orienteering club is in your area and join. Practice practice practice.
