Introduction - Zach

Post by NoSleep »

Good morning, my name is zach, I'm 21 and graduated highschool in 2021, currently I'm a shift lead at a deli. I didn't do any sports or extra curriculars and didn't t do boy scouts. I don't have a contract and haven't talked to an army recruiter. To be completly honest all i've done since my time in and before school is waste it and try to escape my problems however I could.

I understand That to move forward I must accept total responsibility for my life. I've been doing some soul searching and I want to be a Ranger more than anything, I've been thinking about joining the military from a young age because of my family history (and call of duty Hahaha.) But I have done a lot of research into the reality of big army and Ranger life and crave the community of Discipline, Brotherhood, and Constant Improvement. I Live in the Atlanta area and would greatly appreciate a mentor but I understand everyone has their own lives and I'm just a forum post hopeful.

Hopefully that's not too long, I sincerely want to be a part of your community.Thank you for the resource that is this site.

Zach, welcome to Army Ranger.com, this forum has been used by hundreds of hopefuls like yourself to gain insight/knowledge into preparing for RASP.

I see that you did not play any team sports in highschool, nor have you started the signing process with your local recruiter. If you were to join to the Army, and get a Ranger contract, what job would you want? I highly suggest that you look into the list of MOS's that the 75th Ranger Regiment is looking for, it might surprise you.

Take a diagnostic RFT (2 mins of t-pushups, plank, 5 mile run, and chinups) and post your scores here. You have by the end of this week to do so.

Start learning the Ranger Creed, and apply it to your daily life. If you get a contract, I will mentor you directly.

Also, proper grammar/spelling goes a long way here.

Do 25 pushups +1 for the Airborne Ranger In The Sky for every mistake with your post.

Heard and heard Ranger BlueLiner. I want 11x or 68w, preferably 11x. My numbers are 24, 1 minute, 48 minutes, and 7 (before failure). I'm still working on memorizing the Ranger Creed.

Zach, those PT scores fucking suck.

HOWEVER, you now have a baseline which is a good thing. Start looking into the PT improvement thread on this website, there are numerous threads that helped hundreds of people JUST LIKE YOU who sucked at PT at first. I know I did.

Never quit.

I got cabital tunnel from playing guitar last month, i've been dealing with that, it's mostly gone now, in the meantime I've done entirely cardio. I have the Ranger Creed just about memorized, though sometimes I have to check to make sure i'm saying it right. I will do a 5 mile run tomorrow and report back what my time is. I just don't want to make my mostly recovered nerve swell up again with calisthenics quite yet, I hope you can appreciate that Ranger BlueLiner, thank you for checking up on me.

It is October 27th, what is your 5 mile time?

Do flutterkicks and do one for the Airborne Ranger In The Sky. Also, choose one and tell us about him here.

Have you gone in to talk to a recruiter yet? That is of course the first step on any of this. Wants and desires only do so much.
