Any of you fuckers from Regiment calling him top do pushups. You know you wouldn't have done that when you were serving. Thank you 1stSgt for your service and keeping us safe.

I never saw a Regiment. We always called 1st Sergeant Top. When he couldn't hear us.

Yeah you old farts don't count.  You can do anything you want but the young pups who served in the Regiment would have been doing pushups for days if we did that. Try calling your squad leader "Sarge", same thing.

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies & gentlemen (or is that pushing it too far?) I never minded being called "Top" but never in formation except by the Old Man. He would finish his say & then instead of yelling "1st SERGEANT" he'd yell "TOP". He was a former buck sergeant & mustanged up through the ranks to a commission after ETSing & ROTCing. Hardcore SOB. Used to have to keep up with him in morning PT when I was 50. Got the job done most times. Heard more bitching from the ranks by the young guys. Give them 2 days in SEAL Team 2!
Looks like my Ranger son will be going to someplace warm soon. God Bless & keep all our warriors safe & pray He brings them home.
Top out.

Hey Top, I think you ought to change your Avatar to that of 1st Sgt. Your present Avatar is misleading to say the least. You can keep the name tho. Like Dorothy once said, "Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore".

I wasn't hung up on Parade Ground horseshit protocol's where little dicked NCO's wanted the Pronunciation of Sergeant versus S'arnt, Top versus First Sergeant and a host of other feel good shit that made NCO's feel good about themselves when all they could hide behind was some stupid book they took from PLDC about being proper and politically correct....I knew what I was and so did they....I was some more worried about other little things like....could they fucking shoot, move, and communicate....could they hang, could they survive. Never found evidence that having them call me First Sergeant over TOP gave them any more lethality or survivability. But who knows....maybe your right?

You threw a piece of meat on the table. Assuming you spent time with ST 2. When? Tell us about your career, where you were, who you were with?
