SITREP - Kyle

Post by Khrdh »

Rangers, I’m at MEPS right now waiting to head to the airport to fly out to Atlanta. I should arrive there at around 2230 tonight.

I know the Rangers on here don’t like to be thanked, so I’ll say that the info on this site is invaluable for someone in my position. I know I haven’t been super active on here, but I feel much more prepared due to the knowledge I've gained reading these forums. I’ll be sure to provide updates throughout my journey. Can’t wait to step off the bus at Ft. Benning.

Rangers,

First off, apologies for such a late response. I'm in Pre-RASP right now, I arrived this past Tuesday. It's surreal standing on the rocks I've read so much about on here. We did our first ruck this morning which was fast, but not as bad as I was expecting. We went around the airfield and up cardio hill, which was great. Alex (Drock) and I worked out at the Audie Murphy gym after we were released for the day, and we're here at the library right now.

The word as of now is that we'll have a PT test in a few weeks that will determine who's going to class up. I'll be sure to post an update when anything significant happens. For now, we're just counting down the days until we start RASP.

Good to hear from you, Kyle. It used to be called Cardiac Hill .. because it would cause Cardiac arrest... right? Anyone? I dunno, maybe it's just me 8)

Rangers,

Thank you for the responses. Ranger Dis, I definitely should have proofread that last post a little closer, haha.

I was (un)lucky enough to have been chosen for CQ duty yesterday. I missed out on some pretty good PT this morning, which I was dissapointed about. They got to do a 3 mile boot run, hit the obstacle course, followed up with some core work. I did get in a quick session at the gym with Alex earlier, and I should have enough time to go for a quick run before this evening's formation. I'll be sure to hit CardiAC Hill if I get the chance.

No doubt you'll get your chance at plenty of O-courses. CQ type duty is never fun but does serve a very important purpose.

Rangers,

I hope all of you are doing well. We're on pass here for the weekend, starting week 5 tomorrow. Everything has been going great so far. Myself, Alex, Dylan and Nico are all still going strong. I was fortunate enough to pass the RFT which was a huge releif. Week 4 was a great time, as so many other posts on this site have explained, haha. It feels unreal to be done with something I've heard so much about. I'm excited for the training we have coming up, as well as HBL at the end of this week. I'll continue to post updates on here in the coming weeks.

Thanks for checking in, Kyle. I am sure they are all telling you down there but be cautious falling into bad habits from before you left for the military. Remember you're still in the middle of something important. Have fun with friends and family. Don't do stupid stuff.
