Introduction

Post by joeyxnoir »

Greetings,

My name is Major. i am former Active Duty USAF SSgt (8 years), and a current Texas Army National Guardsman. During my USAF time i served as a Emergency Manager, and later on as an Aerial Transporter. I have been stationed in the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, and the god forsaken place that is New Jersey. I separated in June 2016, and joined the TX NG slotted as an 11B in December. i am scheduled to ship to OSUT mid may, with Airborne afterwards. my contract is for 3 years and my goal is to get back into active duty and hopefully serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment. i look forward to reading and soaking up as much knowledge as possible from the community, and hopefully being able to help out in areas i may have expertise in. Thanks for having me!

Thank you for the welcome Jim and CharlieRanger1FFV.

More about myself, i am 27, and currently attending college while serving in the NG, until i can get back on AD. I've always wanted to serve in the Army, but somehow i got roped into the Air Force  . During my time in England, i was on course to switch over using the Blue to Green program, but was ultimately shot down due to "manning". During my transition period, i was put in touch with an SF MSG who was the SEL at JSOAC-E, which was right down the street from my unit. i went through a sort of preparatory course, and while talking he asked me had i considered Special Forces. I told him that i wanted to be a proficient Infantryman before anything else, and that is when he recommended the Ranger Regiment to me. It has been a goal of mine to serve there ever since. There are actually a few soldiers in my NG unit that have been in the Regiment, and i'm hoping between this site, them, and of course my own will i will achieve this goal. Thanks for listening!
