Ranger Grim666,
I've been told a lot of thing by a lot of recruiters and didn't know what to believe. This is becoming a nightmare. If you can get the straight facts for me. My father and I would greatly appreciate that.

Rangers,
I just received news from a new recruiter that I will be able to retake the asvab without a problem. Since I mention that I was taken out since there was an emergency with the principal so the asvab is considered invalid. They want me to retake it asap but I'm in no rush so in the mean time i will take your advice Ranger Grim666 and get a Kaplan 2016 edition book and study my ass off.

Yes no rush. Remember to study all of it. Everything matters. Study 30-45 min a night every night. In about 3 weeks take a practice test. The whole thing. And see how you do

Ranger Grim666,
May I ask you how the Ranger battalion is ran differently/same as to the 82nd Airborne division. My recuiter said it's all the same.

Do some reading online. Get some of the recent books on Ranger Regiment and you will see. If your recruiter was never a Ranger he has no idea and quite frankly is an idiot.

Ranger Grim666,
I just got a Kaplan asvab prep book. So I thank you for recommending that to me. I'm in a dilemma with what I need to do after graduation until I go to basic. I have 2 job offers, a cashier at whole foods $11/h ft W/ time to workout or boatsman at the dock $13/h ft plus overtime w/tips but i will work M-Sun 7am-11pm W/o time to workout. I know this is stupid but I've worked very hard to get in shape. I don't want to lose it because I chose a hard labor job over working out.

You always have time to work out. Push-ups and sit-ups on break or lunch or when not busy. And get up early to run. You just make it work.

Ranger Grim666,
I have to wait until Oct 1 to get a 11x option 40 but my recuiter said I can go in Aug if I signed a 92G (cook) option 40 and most likely be reclassed to a 11b, is this true?

If you want 11x then wait for it. He is full of it. A cook is a cook until you get through Ranger School. Then you have that option to reclass.

Ranger Grim666,
Thank you for clearing that up.

I need some advice on workouts. My currnet apft is 80 push ups, 80 sit ups, 16 chin ups, 13:30 2 mile, and 37:55 5 mile. I feel mentally burnt out working out 2h a day 6d a week. I've been doing the same routine for the past few months. I'm not going to quit. I just need something different to keep my mind fresh. So if you could help me with a new workout routine that'd be greatly appreciated.

Ranger Grim666,

Don't fall for the BS. Once you sign up for that MOS, you will have to spend at least 2 to 4 years in that MOS before you can be eligible for a reclass. If you want 11X, then except nothing less than 11X. Always be polite and respectful with your recruiters, but be firm and determined in what you want.

Roger rangerjd,
I will not settle for anything less than 11x option 40. I am currently studying an asvab book and plan to take it late June. I will then try to get a contract asap. If not then I will wait.

Grim666 is spot on. Don't enlist with an expectation to reclass quickly, too many things can and will change along the way. Even if you enlist as a cook, earn your Ranger Tab, and then try to reclass to infantry it has to be approved at the battalion level and they are hesitant to give up leadership in support positions once they finally have it.
Do not give in to evil but proceed ever more boldly against it.
