Hello Ranger Jim

What I have been doing is running 4 miles in the morning. Monday-saturday, in the afternoon I complete the military athlete APFT program. Before bed I also do 3 sets of 2 mins push ups. My goal is to hit 77 on each set, afterwards 3 sets 2 min sit ups. The goal is 85 minimim on each set. Afterwards I do 3 sets of pullups 15 minimum on each set, followed by a one mile run before bed

Hello Rangers good afternoon. I just wanted to do a small little update. I have around eight weeks remaining before I ship out.

Current APFT:

Push Ups: 94

Pull Ups: 15 Dead hang

I will be running 50 miles a week now, to work on my running game and develop my endurance a little more.

Hello Rangers and good afternoon. Apologies for my delay Ranger JD and Ranger Jim. Ranger Jd I have been preparing mentally by just continuing to read the different threads and topics, that I am privilage to have access to on this site. Reading about those who were in similar shoes as myself, reading about those in prerasp as well as rasp. Also those in osut, and gathering as much wisdom to prepare myself mentally for a bit, of what is to come beforehand.

When I speak of preparing mentally, I'm not speaking of intelligence, I'm speaking of mental toughness. Most people who quit, quit not because they can't physically handle it, but because they can't mentally handle it. The body will do anything the mind tells it to do. You need to train your mind to continue on even when you think you are at your end. When running, conduct a 2 mile run, as fast as you can, but at the end continue for another 1/2 mile to a mile, even though you're completely spent. Every time you do an exercise, always do at least one more rep, after you've done all you can do. I don't care what it takes or how long, train your mind to always find one more rep, one more mile. To be physically strong is important, but when you reach your limit, mental toughness will push you on when the body wants to quit.

Thank you Ranger Jd. I do not plan on quitting if given the opportunity. I know that sounds cliché since it can be a common phrase that many might say within this moment. However if I earn this...I plan on seeing it till the end. All I want is a shot, an opportunity that is all I want. Because I know if I am given this chance..I will see it till the end. Not to sound cocky..but I have never been given any hand outs in my life..and all I have ever chased after was opportunities. All I ever want is a chance, and I believe the Army is one of the few orginizations left now a days. That still recognizes hard work, and ambition. I will always give all I have, for something I am grateful for..and I want to be apart of such a brotherhood and family as this.

Yes Ranger Jim I do. Also what sticks out the most in the threads is to never give up! To come as prepared as one can possibly come, and again to never Give up. I am ready to give my all and then give a little more. I feel ready to do my best when the opportunity comes
