Wonder if its the same Sgt James J Regan (posthumsley -sp?)
Have met his parents while participating in NYC's Run down Hero's Highway along with garyedolan, Anton2W & many other Rangers. I was at RR2013 wearing my T-shirt with above name to Change of Command and was called by his father. ~ RIP Ranger Sgt James Regan.

my point is that the vast majority of rangers are enlisted. the vast majority of the heavy lifting ie fighting and training is done by enlisted and yet the hof iductees are almost 2 to 1 officers points to a political process instead of a merit process. I am pretty sure active rangers would all have a number of names worthy of the hof that are ncos. That, would be my point.

I think the underlying issue is the selection / vetting system. An individual, no matter how well qualified, who is not nominated for the RHOF will never be selected. Ranger units and organizations (USARARA, 75TH RRA, etc.) submit their nominees to the committee; who in turn, select the members of the RHOF class. If you see a worthy Ranger, nominate him for the RHOF. In the past, I have nominated several, who were selected; all my nominees were senior NCO's that I had served with in combat.

The reason I'm no longer a member of the 75th RRA.......I hate when "Politics" is the driving force in an organization.

The reality is that whenever you have a group of people there will be politics. The Pollyanna outlook of everyone gets a fair shake is cute.
