Any body see 300: Rise of an Empire this weekend? I really liked the 1st one, so I don't want to ruin that with a crap sequel....

Just saw this yesterday. I enjoyed it. First let me say, if you have the chance, see it in an IMAX 3D theatre. The 3D is absolutely amazing, the screen is 8 stories tall I believe, and 100' wide, and every seat in the theatre has a kicker box underneath it for sound. Total immersion.

Now the movie surprised me as there was very little "Spartan" involvement at all, a short spell at the beginning and again during the movie. This story revolved around the pretty large Naval battles between the Athenians and the Persians that were occurring as the original 300 were battling the Persians at the 'gate'.

Digital cinamatography was fantastic in this new 3D that's out. Copious battle scenes, boobs and sex as in the first movie. Probably not for younger children.

Saw "22 Jump Street" yesterday without the benefit of having seen "21 Jump Street." Started off kinda slow, I didn't have high hopes for it but it turned out to be pretty funny, good flick.

Saw "The Raid 2" tonight. This is the sequel to "The Raid" (I know, hard to follow...). This was the ultra violent martial arts movie made in Indonesia.

The Raid 2 is just as violent, but it is a hell of an action flick. I got it on a Netflix disc (not instant yet). The only complaint is I couldn't tell who was who at one point. They would introduce a new character and I was lost as to why he was there, what his importance was. I think it had to do with the first movie, but I saw it a year ago and couldn't keep up.

But there was massive bloodshed and realistic violence, so it was good enough for me.

Saw "Let's Be Cops" last night. Laughed from beginning to end, strongly recommend it.

Went and saw 'Guadians of the Galaxy' with my youngest daughter (18) a few days ago. It's funny and has a ton of action. Kind of a mix between Star Wars and The Avengers. Great movie, I highly recommend.

I just wish Hollywood would quit "Race Bending" characters.
