SITREP- boomer478

Post by boomer478 »

Rangers, I go to the hotel in a little bit, tomorrow I go to MEPS to do the "short" physical and other paperwork, and I fly out the next day. I wanted to thank the Rangers on this site for taking the time to mentor us and give us awesome advice on the path to the 75th Ranger Regiment and life in Ranger Battalion. Throughout my pipeline I'm going to give 100% effort at all times and post sitreps whenever I can. It's been a while, now it's time to start my journey.

SITREP- boomer478

Post by boomer478 »

Rangers, I have completed 9 weeks of OSUT and currently on my family day pass. So far OSUT is what most of the other mentees described it would be. I love the training, and being in pretty good shape before I left did make the physical aspect of OSUT not that hard. On my most recent pt test we did earlier this week I got 69 push-ups, 96 sit-ups and a 13:13 2-mile, I still have a lot of work to do. The best advice I can offer to other mentees is pretty much be in the best shape you can be before you leave and in OSUT you're going to make mistakes, just don't give up and keep moving forward and give 100% everyday. I'm looking forward to the rest of OSUT, as well as the the other phases if my pipeline.

Rangers, I turned blue and graduated osut and now inprocessed at airborne school. Turning blue felt amazing and I now look forward to airborne training. What advice the Rangers and mentees had in this site has helped immensely so far. Thank you very much and I'll post another sitrep soon. And doc_dino what company are you in?

Ranger Jim, I finished ground week and start tower week on Monday. Airborne school so far has been simple, as long as you pay attention and do the right thing everything's good. I'm excited to start this next week because it's one week closer to jumping, and after that is pre-RASP. Almost everything the Rangers and mentees have said about my pipeline has been very accurate. The more time goes by, the more excited I get to start RASP.

Rangers, I graduated Airborne school and earned my wings, and I start pre-RASP next week. I'm extremely excited, even though I won't start RASP for some time, that gives me even more time to get my pt even better. I also have a question, I have searched but found very little info, I'm wondering, because I am an 11C, what is it like to be an 11C in a Ranger Battalion as opposed to an 11B?

It is a lot different and a lot the same. You will by far have the heaviest ruck. It will help you now to know that everything you had hoped to do when you finished basic has changed. It is not bad it is just different. You will shoot a fuck load of mortars. Like more that anyone else in the army. More in one day than most units shoot in a year. You will be on every mission as a mortar but you won't likely clearing rooms. You will do mortar stuff. Which usually involves sitting around doing nothing until a fire mission comes then you are jumping out your ass. You are going to be lost as shit for the first month because whatever they can teach you in the mortar square is not enough and very inaccurate as far a what consists of a Ranger mortar vs anything else. If I dig through my shit I might can find a mortar knowledge sheet for you. There is a lot to remember and it will drive you nutso but you can do it. Any retard can do i it just takes a while. Send me a PM with any more specific questions and I will try to answer the best I can.
