Sitrep - Black2594
Sitrep - Black2594
Sorry it has been so long since my last post, Rangers. I have completed all requirements for Basic Training and am graduating tomorrow here at Fort Sill. I leave for Fort Sam on Saturday, hopefully. I am continuing the climb upwards and working extremely hard on bettering my PT scores. They are not great, but I am hoping to improve drastically during AIT.
I don't want to settle for being just another medic. I strive for and want to earn the title 'Doc'.
Re: Sitrep - Black2594
This should have been in the letters from school, where it will be moved. While you are on the letters from school thread, please read the letters about 68W training. My apologies Ranger Jim. Knocking out 50 for lack of attention to detail.
And I'm tracking on the 68W letters, Ranger Jim. Reading them as you are reading this.

Stopped by for a visit during RR, The "New" aid-station is probably one of the best in the Army, damn-sure the second best on post!.. (The best being at the 3rd Batt ) Compared to the ancient ass building where we had to fight to get stuff, this place is literally state of the art. (We asked to have the leaky roof fixed, they gave us paint and said we were lucky to get that..) I damn sure would have stayed a little longer if I had digs like that!..

Re: Sitrep - Black2594
Hello, Rangers. I graduated from the 68W course on the 19th of December. My scores on the paper tests left a lot to be desired, but I passed all of my hands on evaluations with flying colors. Still working on the PT side of things, but I've improved drastically since Basic. I'm headed to Korea for my first assignment. I have been told that I may have a selection as to where I go after a year, unless I choose to stay for another year. If that is the case, I'm looking to pull some strings and get Fort Bragg and make an attempt to volunteer for Airborne. As of right now, I'm going to be focusing on that and possibly getting the EFMB during my first four years of enlistment. I am already looking ahead, and will attempt to get a Ranger School slot when reenlistment time comes around.

Just an update, Rangers. I was informed yesterday that both my Senior Medic and I will be attending the EFMB Course in April up at Warrior Base. If anyone on here has happened to have gone through an EFMB cycle, would you mind sharing any kind of advice with me?
As always, staying motivated, Rangers.

Re: Sitrep - Black2594
Wanted to share a conversation I had last month with a Ranger (2d Bn) medic. We had both been awarded the combat badge (CMB CIB), but were later tested for the expert badge (EFMB EIB) . We agreed that the expert badges are, in their own way, challenging and worth earning. He is on his way to be an EFMB grader somewhere in MEDCOM next month. Another "earn this," experience. Best wishes for your success, Black2594.

When you say "Warrior Base," is it a training site in-country?Black2594 wrote:Thank you for your words, Ranger Jim. I'm looking forward to going and earning the badge.

Re: Sitrep - Black2594
Rangers, Monday morning I will be participating in the preliminary EFMB 12 mile ruck. My ruck time is 20 minutes under the 3 hour maximum at 2 hours and 40 minutes. I'm hoping to cut off another 10 minutes, if possible, on Monday.
