When Dubai bought a Lamborghini Aventador for its cash-rich police force, that was the only the start.

They indulged in even more rare exotica — a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, a Bentley Continental GT, and an ultra-rare special you’ll almost definitely never get to drive: the Aston Martin One-77. Those go right alongside dual Ferrari FFs and a McLaren MP4-12C, among others.

Now, as most of its Arab neighbors struggle with extreme poverty, Dubai has more ostentatious display than ever before: a police-issue Bugatti Veyron. A basic Veyron will run you a cool $1.6 million, remember.
