Introduction-Coltrain

Post by Coltrain »

Hello everyone,

My name is Colt, I am twenty two years old and have decided to enlist with either an 11x opt. 40, or a 68w opt 40. I have not yet signed up for the DEP but I will as soon as possible. I was an Army brat growing up, and it will be an honor to serve my country and to do so with the Army Rangers. I signed up for this site to get some information about enlistment, career paths (11X and 68W), and last but not least preparation. I also thank all past and current Army Rangers for the service they gave, and give to our country.

APFT:

Push ups: 83
Sit ups: 63
Pullups: 13
2 mile run to follow.

Thank you again,
Colt
P.S. I hope I have the right avatar, if not I am sorry.

Ranger Jim, thank you for the welcome. I am at Arizona State University finishing up an accelerated program. I have a few reasons for choosing the Rangers. I want to become an Army Ranger because I want to defend my country and the people in it to the best of my ability. In sports, I always pushed myself in the weight room, while training, and during conditioning. But my teammates just wanted to complete the bare minimum. This drove me crazy because nothing is accomplished without hard work. So I decided I want to work with like minded men. Next, the Rangers have a long storied history full of excellence. Finally, the thought of me working a day in day out 9-5 job is soul crushing. I want a life that is more than 9-5 (not that there is anything wrong with it). Ranger CharlieRanger1FFV, and Bronco, thank you both for the welcome.

Ranger Jim, I have, and he mentioned to come back after I have selected my spring 2014 (final semester) classes. I can sign up for them on October 28th, so I am probably going to try and go to MEPS as soon as I can after that. I was told to get a letter from ASU that says I am signed up for classes and will graduate Spring 2014. The letter should be all I need to get a DEP 11x opt. 40 (or so I was told).

Thank you Mr. Wazzle. I would like to add that I am scheduled to take the ASVAB next week. Hopefully an 11B Op. 40 will be waiting for me when I get back from the testing station.

Thank you Ranger Jim, also I just took my ASVAB and scored an 83 AFQT and a 115 GT score. The MOS system was having issues with showing any MOS's in May-July. On Tuesday, the recruiter and I are calling the ROC to see if an 11x Opt 40 is available. Wish me luck.
