Fourteen inches of wet snow and the power is out, but I did get to use my snowshoes. This is good training!!

Don't need no stinking Slushy or ice cream for a brain freeze here, just go outside for a minute or two. Forecast for the next few days have the highs below zero; low temps around -30 not counting windchill.

Didn't mean to sound complainin', just sharing the experience. Fortunately, it's supposed to warm up a little bit just in time for the 135 mile ultra-marathon a group puts on up here. Sub-zero is expected and part of the sadistic draw, but -30 to -35 crosses that line between hardcore and stupid.

Haven't had snow in three years here. It usually snows once or twice in the winter, but nothing. This is a bad thing if you are a farmer. No snow means we have more flying insects, more fucking vines killing off the crops and I haven't had fruit from my trees in three years.

Good news? The sun is going into a low activity cycle next year... so colder winters and milder summers.
