This is a compilation of the worlds murder rates. Note that many nations listed outlaw the private ownership of firearms. This is related to what is now our politicians hottest vote accumulating topics.

It shows the intentional homicide rate for the world. Gun violence may be high in the US but the murder rate is not so much out of line with the rest of the world. So if you can't get a gun you commit the murder using something else.
