Introduction-Kyle

Post by Stove55 »

Good evening Rangers! My name is Kyle. I am 18 years old and currently a senior in high school, graduating in May. I've been scouring this website for quite sometime now and decided a registration was proper.
I have already been to a recruiter and made two trips to MEPS, without luck on obtaining and 11X Option 40. I am physically qualified and have met all other qualifications. I am just waiting on that "golden ticket." My AFQT score was an 85 with a GT score of a 125. From all these posts within the last month about 11X Option 40s becoming available on the system, I've been very excited. However I don't believe my recruiter is helping me out on his end, due to some problems in the past. I am considering changing recruiters next week and start fresh.
My father was a Ranger (tabbed and scrolled) and ever since I first put on his Ranger fatigues (olive green back then), I knew I was next. It is all I ever think about. Wanting to do something extraordinary with my life and to know I did something for myself and country. It is a pleasure to surf the same forums as you Rangers. I look forward to my future on this forum and some great interactions! Thank you all so much!

Ranger Steadfast,

Affirmative on the pt scores.
Also, unofficially, I do consider my dad my Ranger Mentor. I will get him on this board very soon. It would be a great way for him to reconnect and share his past.

Thank you Ranger CharlieRanger1FFV, it's a pleasure!

It's a good start, but have not seen your father's intro.

Rangers,
Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I graduated on Saturday and it was a pretty hectic week up until then and it has been difficult to get my dad on the computer. I also come with great news! Thanks to Ranger goon175's post on 18 May, I called my recruiter and got him to check the system and secure me a slot for 11X Option 40! Wednesday I went to MEPS and signed my contract. I ship out to Ft. Benning on 20121113! No amount of words can describe how excited I am. These 6 months will fly by and everyday is going to be a PT day. I thank all you Rangers for the knowledge filled posts that you have all written and provided us to read. It has helped, and will continue to help, me on the long road to become a Ranger!
