Intro - Allen

Post by The Stig »

Hello everyone, first and foremost. Thank you for your service and advice.

Little about myself. I've got 3 goals in my life to become a tabbed and scrolled member of the 75th Ranger Regiment and pay my dues to those who've came before me, to climb Mount Everest, and to summit the highest peaks on the seven continents. I've grown up in a military environment most of my life. Grandfather was AF enlisted for about 20ish years and did time in Laos during the Vietnam war (he just told me about that). My father went from enlisted to officer in the AF and was involved in various projects like the JDAM and did some time with NASA early in his career and recently retired. It took me a while to wake up and realize what I wanted (to late to get in shape for RASP in high school, I spent more time playing halo then I did running  ) About 9 months ago I started doing crossfit and have made leaps in my physical fitness then where I used to be and dropped 45lbs since July (yay). No where near where I wanted to be though. I've recently reevaluated my life and have made the choice to push myself. I've got a year before I finish my AA degree and start talking to a recruiter and want to be in the best shape I can possibly be.

Here is my current PT score taken last week (I was prepping for a career with US Border Patrol)
Push-ups - 31 in 1 minute
Sit-ups - 30 in 1 minute
1.5 run - 13:35

This is what my current workout schedule will be post New Years
Following the first running plan. Build to a 5k

Swimming workout will be the longer workout

I guess I should explain Sundays WoD then.

Ladder workout given to me from a friend of the family who's a ex-seal.

Each rep increases by 1 or 10 per round

5 Rounds (will increase as general fitness increases)
10 pushups
10 situps
10 squats
1 pullup
1/2 Mile run

Next round

20 pushups
20 situps
20 squats
2 pullups (using a band atm to improve strength)
1/2 mile run

So, by the end of the WOD I'll end up doing 150 of each exercise, 15 pullups and run 2.5 miles.
