Introduction

Post by j.balint »

I came off of Active Duty about a year and a half over, which I served 4 1/2 years. I include the 1/2 because that 1/2 allowed me to participate in another deployment. All of my time served was at 2nd Bat. after graduating all the Initial Entry Training courses, including Airborne and RIP. Now I'm going to college and it seems that the only skill that I picked up along the way that really transferred over to civilian life was the need to over achieve in everything. The hardest part about going to school is being thrown in with all these kids that just graduated high school and are living off of mommy and daddy, then also being viewed by others as equal to them. Makes me wonder some of the time what I'm doing and makes me want to get back to doing something tactical.

I share your experience. I went to "Bootstrap" many years ago. I was on permissive TDY from the 82d Airborne gang for 179 days. If you are not getting laid a lot, you're either married or not trying!

Welcome here. Where are you going to school, and what do you want to do once you finish?
There's an extensive network to tap into, here and other places on the net....you would be missing an opportunity if you don't do that.
