SITREP for Dntwishforitwrkforit

Post by Dntwishforitwrkforit »

Rangers,

Thank you again for allowing me to be a guest here. Currently I am in the enlistment process and working on finding a MEPS date. My recruiter has yet to see any 11x Option 40 contracts, so I am going to wait it out for now. I've been waiting for about a month on it with no luck so far. Currently, he and I do the Insanity workouts 6 days per week, and on my own time I am doing muscle failure PT on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with runs on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. I will continue to wait it out for now, however I plan on signing an 11x contract by Memorial Day if no Option 40 contracts open up. To be honest, I was not even aware of the Option 40 contract at first, I was fully planning on going 11x and working my butt off for a shot at RASP, so Option 40 would be an added bonus to me if I get it, but if it does not come up I will go my original plan of action.

Current weight is 230, this is down from 244 on March 14th. Just gotta keep finding things I can do that push me past what I thought were my limits.

Thanks for reading all.

Off to MEPS 20110608...hoping for the elusive Option 40, if I can't get at least Option 4 to get to Airborne I'll be walking out without a contract.

Good luck, and don't kill yourself over the contract, you sound like you're busting your ass. A contract will get you there, but it won't help you graduate. There are opportunities on Sand Hill for the worthy as well. Keep up the hard work!!

Thank you Ranger mjk175, I appreciate it!

Rangers, here is my latest update:

I was going to go after Memorial Day and just take an 11x and go from there...luckily that small voice in the back of my head told me hell no. I asked my recruiter to call the ROC, but he stated what was on the computer was what they had (bullsh!t). So, I asked him to keep looking, and I'm really unsure if he did as he was getting upset and pushing me towards just taking the 11x. Eventually, I decided it looked like this was going nowhere, so I went to my current recruiter. Luckily for me, when we checked jobs today only 13F showed up. At which point my recruiter flew into a crazy rage and called the ROC and promised me "I'm not getting off this phone until I have you an 11x Option 40." Took about an hour of being on the phone, but thankfully I now have my reservation for an 11x Option 40 contract. MEPS on 20110726, and as long as everything goes well (big if but I'm praying), I should be sworn in by then. Amazing what a good recruiter can do for you.

Anyway, thank you all for following along with me so far Rangers, I appreciate it and I will update again on Tuesday.

Rangers and my fellow DEPs,

I am proud to announce that all went well at MEPS and I am sworn in and good to go on everything with my 11x Opt. 40. Quick MEPS process today...I was sworn in and done by 1100 CDT.

I will update more right now later, right now I'm just sitting back and taking a sigh of relief that this first stage went off without a hitch.
