SITREP Nick

Post by Nick1221 »

Well, I'm going to MEPS Thursday, but as I have already taken the ASVAB(94 AFQT), my recruiter was able to reserve me a job today, provided that the physical goes fine.

This is tentative, BUT,
20111122 FT. Leonard Wood
74D Option 40.

Are there any 74D's on here that might have any advice?
Any other advice from any other Rangers is more than welcome. I've gathered that my preparation should be consisting of PT, PT, PT, and after that, more PT.

I was really hoping to get something in the medical field, but there was only a list of about 9 available jobs, and 74D both sounded interesting and had that nice looking Option 40 under it. I was expecting to have to hassle my recruiter for it but he just looked and said, "It's got a Ranger option, do you want that?"
Roger that, Sergeant.

If you'll excuse me, I've got pushups to do.
Tentatively,

Thanks for the visual, Ranger Baseplate. I wasn't quite sure what he meant.

I'll go a step further.

Read the book Hot Zone.

Take that, and everything you "know" about NBC warfare, and expand that exponentially. You are entering a very dark place. You will be exposed to many things that only exist in most peoples' nightmares. Be ready for it.

I'd rather eat a bullet any day than die from some of the shit that exists out there, diseases, chemical or otherwise.
