Montevallo, Ala (WIAT) - The remains of an American Green Beret have finally come home to rest.

SFC James Leslie Moreland was wounded and killed in Vietnam more than 43 years ago. Since then he’s been listed as missing in action and presumed dead. Now, his family can finally have some finality to where he is.

A memorial service for him was held at The American Village in Montevallo Friday night. Family, friends and former soldiers all welcomed this warrior home.

The funeral for Moreland will be Saturday May 14th at the Ashby Cemetery near Centreville.
