Intro - Jimmy

Hello all,
First off, I am 21, in the Navy as a GSM - gas turbine systems technician (mech.) essentially 'working on' jet engines that propel ships. Interesting, but now boring, since they are fairly low maitenance, I might as well be a janitor. Not too sure how I got into the navy though, although I know I got into the engineering portion by getting only one job offered to me, even though I asked what else there was. Being 17 when I went to MEPS, I figured WTH, maybe I'll like it... Bad idea, lol.\

I stumbled upon your site while looking into what I want to do when my time here is up. I have had an interest in the Army, more specifically SF, as long as I can remember. Every time I start looking into other career choices, Ranger keeps popping in my head, so I figure while I can, I'll pick the brains of those that know best, the one's do and have done the job.

Before I get into asking all the questions I have (not many at the time, they tend to pop in my head at the most inopportune times) I will browse/ search my way through your forum. I hope to get the info I need, and to serve beside some/ most of you in the future.
