Rangers,

I just wanted to bring this to your attention. I'm not sure how many of you actually go to the GoArmy website, but frequently we have had numerous "kids" come and ask questions about Rangers and equipment etc. This usually doesn't bother me, as I direct them to the Ranger website to get the information they are looking for. However, today I came across a kid that was asking about equipment/accessories etc. He even used Ranger in his screen name. As I attempted to calmly correct this person, he became disrespectful. After I explained to him his mistake and that I would be contacting the real Rangers on this matter, he did a complete 180 and started back peddling.

I was wondering if maybe one of the Rangers on this site could stop in periodically and answer some questions, or set these kids straight. If not, I understand as I do not wish to deal with these kids half the time either. I'm only on that website to help answer questions and give some insight into the aspects of the Army that I know, and to help inform some of our future leaders.

We have rules against names like that here for good reason. However, out there it's all fair game. I'm not saying there aren't a few of us here who wouldn't slap the taste out of his mouth because he knows everything or is being a smartass... but you get what you pay for. You pay to get vetted here and our admins and moderators ensure that the respected earned is given. The kid is a dipshit for using military terms in his name. There are plenty of posers out there but he isn't in that category. Just a kid who put Ranger in his name because the term matches his current ego on how badass he thinks he is.

This post isn't to deter you from letting us know when someone is being a moron on another website and potential tarnishing the Ranger name.
