Intro - EOD tech

Post by gruberik »

Hello Rangers,

I am currently an EOD CPT serving in Iraq. I commissioned as an OD 2LT back in 2007 and was given a Ranger school slot in OBC. Due to family issues, it became evident to me that being away from my family for two months to complete school was not a wise decision at the time. Sometimes you have to choose between what you want out of your career and what it best for your wife/kids. Anyways, I competed for and accepted a slot to EOD school and went that route instead. I feel very blessed for being in such a great career field and am honored to serve with all the EOD techs in my unit.

I always wanted to go back and get my tab. I feel I could always use additional leadership training (we all can) and it would be a unique skill set to bring back to my guys in the EOD field. By BN CDR is a generous man who pushed my 4187 through and got me a class for Ranger school in Sep. '11. Also, I will be attending WTC NG PRC in July '11. Looking forward to this opportunity and trying to glean a little knowledge from the experts before I head out.

You have one of those t-shirts with this script emblazoned on the back?

"I am a
Bomb Tech
If you see me run,
Try to keep up"

Sir, you have one of the few jobs the likes of us look up to. *hand salute*

Thanks for taking it on.

Ranger K.Ingraham,

Thanks for the kind words. No, I do not own a shirt like that, but I figure if someone has the time to read the print off my t-shirt while I am running away from an explosion then their odds aren't very good anyway. Maybe I should embroider it on the outside of my bomb suit?
