I made the mistake one time of squaring off with my Dad when I was younger. He dealt with my defiance well. Here's what he said and you can infer what happened.

"Ok son, now get up off the floor and talk to me."

Never did that again.

I bought the book on amazon and it's fucking hilarious. Highly recommend it to you guys since there's a story to most all of the quotes.

William Shatner is playing the dad in the tv series. Not sure how well that translates to network tv.

. wrote:Great book. Just read it the other day. Shatner? Seriously? WTF? I was thinking more along the lines of the dad from "That 70's Show" or maybe Dennis Leary.

., agree on both counts. Although, Shatner can be very sarcastic when required.

. wrote:Yeah he does have a unique humor, I just dont think he can pull off the grumpy yet lovable and witty old man Im picturing in my head with the dad in this book/show. I hope he nails it, because this book became an instant favorite of mine when i read it.

Likewise. I have passed my copy around to serveral who thought the same.

I think that some books simply don't need to be turned into shows or movies. Like "I hope they serve beer in hell". I refuse to watch the movie, but the book was excellent.

yeah, it wasn't that great. I remembered some of the lines/stories, but you should pass. Tucker's actually got a cameo and he was playing it straight. I actually had trouble seeing this guy as "The Tucker Max".
