Dear Rangers,
First of all, I want to thank you for your service to this great country. My grandfather, who recently passed away, instilled a great sense of patriotism in me. He was a seargent in the Marines, and a Colonel in the National Guard. He loved the warrior culture, and that love has passed down to me. Some other reasons for joining the military are, the WTC attacks on 9/11, and to stop the Taliban. A few days ago, I saw a picture of an Afghan girl, whose nose was chopped off by the Taliban. That picture, and article is just another reason why we have to finish this war.
Second, I am in my senior year of highschool, and want to go to college before joining the military. I workout regularly, weight train, run, play B-ball. I am also an honors student with an 89 average. The reason I chose the 75th Ranger Regiment as the unit I want to join is that they are elite, professional soldiers, who get the job done no matter what the cost. Although, my overall goal is to be in the Army Special Forces, I feel that experience as a Ranger would help prepare me for SFAS, and the Q course. As Rangers, you know a hell of a lot better than me, and I will take your advice and apply it as best as I can.
Again, I truly appreciate your service, and hope that I earn the privilege to serve with you.

What area of New York? I am in CNY, if you are in that AO let me know.

Re: Introduction: Mike from NY
I apologize for using your username (goon175), did not see (C co. 1/75), and, I am in the NYC area, and have recently been looking into the 18x contract for Army Special Forces. I like the aspects of teaching the foreign troops, and unconventional warfare. If you have any advice, or ideas, it would be great.
Thanks A lot Rangers

Re: Introduction: Mike from NY
Ranger Bill, I see you served in the 7th special forces group, I was interest specifically in that group's AOR, I am pretty fluent in Spanish, and will take Spanish classes when I get to college. Can you tell me anymore about the 7th Special Forces Group, SFAS, the Q course, and should I take area studies classes that pertain to South America?
Thanks,
Mike
Thanks,
Mike
