Intro.

Post by Starky18 »

I am a 17 year old, I have processed through MEPS and have physically qualified, my GT score was 113 and from what I understand that is slightly above the score needed for the option 40 contract. My family has some military experience, my grandfather was a lieutenant commander in the Navy and my father an E5 with the Infantry. At any rate, after talking with them and others I have decided that I want to, one day, become a Ranger. I am willing to do anything both physical and mental to become prepared for the long road ahead of me. I am not sure if this post is fully adequate, and if not please let me know so I may add more information.

Thank you.

I see that in my nervous post I have forgotten to include some info. My name is Brandon and I am a senior in highschool. I havn't chosen my contract yet because I have to get a waiver due to an allergy to peanuts.

Welcome Brandon. Use the search feature and you will get all the answers you need. The mentor section also has stickies (the top most threads that are always there). Read and heed them. Remember that no one on this board is your friend, this place is a tool for you to assist you in the path you have chosen. Eventually, after you have proven yourself and equal, you will be treated as such, as long as you live by the Ranger Creed and Rogers Standing Orders. Good luck.

Alright, I have my appointment for next monday to get my allergies re-tested. After I get that and some additional paperwork to my recruiter, he will send it on and hopefully within a few weeks I will have my waiver. If so, I shall continue to pursue 11X Op 40.
