People suicidal after seeing AVATAR...

Post by SLEDGE HAMMER »

James Cameron's completely immersive spectacle "Avatar" may have been a little too real for some fans who say they have experienced depression and suicidal thoughts after seeing the film because they long to enjoy the beauty of the alien world Pandora.

I saw the 3D version. These people can get half of what they saw by just enlisting & riding in an Air Assult convey to some hot-spot in the world. If they had volunteered for Vietnam they'd a had their pandora. BTDT. Looked like 90% of the infantry got fucked again in this movie.

The herd gets culled every time one some pop star offs itself. Lennon to Jackson, they all pulled a train of fans to purgatory with them.

Does this make you sit and scratch your head wondering....how can I help more of these fucktards on their way?

Just for argument's sake...

If there really was a world and time such as depicted in Avatar, these losers would be doing the same thing they are doing now. They would be wasting away their mundane and mediocre lives, as their ass slowly spreads over the seat cushions, while the real warriors and adventurers are out there living life to the fullest. You are, what you are, no matter the time or place.

Back when I was in the 82nd Airborne there was an RTO in HHC who didn't like the idea that he didn't live the life of the infantry. He wanted to do more and always ended up delegated to the Commo room, not going into the fight. He decided he was going to join the Foreign Legion, so that he could do some action. My comment to him was "if you go there, what makes you think they won't stick you in the Legion gym, handing out basketballs?"

You are what you are, no matter the time or place. It is in you, and it has nothing to do with the world you live in.

I haven't seen the film, don't plan too, don't like the underlying messages, but I can relate...........

I saw Avatar in 3D and It made me want to kill myself. Not because of the beauty of this fictonal world, but because I paid 10 dollars to see a movie that was as predictable as any movie I have ever see.
