Can 35w get an Opt. 40?

Can 35w get an Opt. 40?

My recruiter told me that it's not possible for a 35w to enlist with and Opt. 40 or and Opt. 4 because their training can take up to 2 years, does anyone know if this is true? He called the ROC and right in front of me and they said the same thing, I'd just like to be 100% sure, I emailed the Ranger recruiters from the Ft. Benning website asking the same question, but haven't heard anything back yet.
Any info would be helpful.
