Ask for the "Option 40" in your contract. That's your avenue to a Ranger unit.
Then shut up and read, almost anything you will think of is already on these pages.
Post again after you get the Opt.40 but not before you learn how to properly use the personal pronoun for first person singular.

Tell them you want NOTHING but an Option 40 contract. PERIOD.

If you go the route that they are suggesting, you may never get to a batt.

I got achilies tendonitis, and it really killed my running and i lost a lot of stamina, so i think i am going to need as much time as i can get to work myself back to an acceptable running condition so i dont look like a fool. but have you guys ever had some one come into a battalion and work out with you before they tried out for rip or applied for ranger school or anything like that?
You know son, there is another thread on these boards talking about excuses. You should read that then come back after you get your Option 40.

Go there, read that, and either become a Ranger, or move out smartly.

NO

You have to run in basic training regardless of which route you take. If you can run there, you can run in RIP.

don't wast the Regt's time. You are already a failure. You have already mind fucked yourself.

You either do it, or you don't. It's that fucking simple.

He couldn't figure out how to capitalize "I" either. Guess he figures he's only worth little letters.

If you are making excuses already, don't waste the slot, a future warrior might need it.
