The American puritanical approach to war has always been a joke to our allies. Pershing placed all brothels and prostitutes off limits and the AEF then ran up the highest STD rate of any army on the Western Front.
Nice to know that we can trust our boys with guns but not a smoke or a beer.

Not really, but those seeking to ban tobacco use by servicemembers are kith & kin to those who keep trying to ban Playboy from the PX, so my argument remains the same.

Smoking is a moral issue ?

When your religion is the state, and your catechism is that no one knows what is best for them, except the state, then yes, it is a religion. Remember if you don't like something, get the government to outlaw it. If you don't like smoking, have the government outlaw it. You don't like the idea that your neighbor has a big car, get the government to outlaw it (or better yet, find a way to make everyone feel guilty for "killing" the earth). I could go on and on, but you get the idea. It is a religion for those who push the issue through the legislature.

Guess I wasn't aware of that, the chewing part anyway.
We were allowed to have a specific number of cans or bags of chew.

I sit here reading this bullshit with a fat dip of Cope in my lip. If the ban were to go through, I'm almost positive it wouldnt be enforced, and my 5 rolls of dip until I started getting packages would increase to a rucksack full!
