Not really, but those seeking to ban tobacco use by servicemembers are kith & kin to those who keep trying to ban Playboy from the PX, so my argument remains the same.Tater Nuts wrote:Smoking is a moral issue ?K.Ingraham wrote:The American puritanical approach to war has always been a joke to our allies. When your religion is the state, and your catechism is that no one knows what is best for them, except the state, then yes, it is a religion. Remember if you don't like something, get the government to outlaw it. If you don't like smoking, have the government outlaw it. You don't like the idea that your neighbor has a big car, get the government to outlaw it (or better yet, find a way to make everyone feel guilty for "killing" the earth). I could go on and on, but you get the idea. It is a religion for those who push the issue through the legislature.Tater Nuts wrote:Smoking is a moral issue ?K.Ingraham wrote:The American puritanical approach to war has always been a joke to our allies. If this passes, be prepared to see a sharp decline in the number of Ranger School grads each year.

Guess I wasn't aware of that, the chewing part anyway.
We were allowed to have a specific number of cans or bags of chew.
Lots of re-dipping going on.

I had never chewed anything before Ranger School, but I got some Apple Plug because it looked like a chocolate brownie......bad move for a first nicotine product as I got stoned off my gourd on patrol.....luckily I was the alternate pace man...not real critical.

I sit here reading this bullshit with a fat dip of Cope in my lip. If the ban were to go through, I'm almost positive it wouldnt be enforced, and my 5 rolls of dip until I started getting packages would increase to a rucksack full!

Today's news says they dropped this, but the goal is to have the military tobacco free in 20 years.
