Im a medic currently deployed to Iraq, 4/1 AD.

Im a PFC been in for little over a year. Was stationed at the lovely Ft. Bliss, /end sarcasim before deployed. Born in IL, lived in CA, NY, NJ. Step father was a West Point grad. He completed AB and Ranger School. I dont believe he was ever in the 75th though. I know he spent time at Bragg, Korea and Panama.

Ive come to this site mainly for a resource for future interests.

I have thought about applying for 75th and doing the whole AB, RIP, SOCM.

Ive also thought about Green to Gold going 2 year scholarship route, all depends on the college I get done while in the Army.

Trying to stay mainly focused on the 25m target and that would be my deployment. But it doesnt hurt to think about it, as I see it.

I have enrolled myself into the 18D Med Sgt Prep correspondence course to increase my knowledge as far as medical goes and for the promotion points. TC3 I got down pretty good as its mainly muscle memory, the medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacy is mainly where my weak points are and those are in the course.

The course itself is a step above SOCM W1 course. Just waiting on AMEDD non resident branch to un screw themselfs as they have not put the course in my ALMS profile so I cannot launch the content yet.

Did a BCT3 class before deployment which in the past was only meant for those in BNOC or SOCM/SF medics. Live "CAM" labs basically for us orientates us with higher level scope of practice medical procedures that one would learn in SOCM W1 and be expected to know. At my level I am not.

I also when ever I get the chance the actual Doc trains us on stuff and lets us do some procedures for PT's that come in to the TMC. Nothing to crazy as we are only a level 1 facility.
