The VA Maze

Post by ShotUp »

RANGERs and other vets,

I've been away from the site a while. I've been busy as hell with work and any free time I have I spend wrestling the VA and buying seats as close to the field as I can for Brewers games.

Before I begin, incase you did not get the letter if you receive any disability payment from the VA and DO NOT receive a $250 stimulus check by JULY 10TH OF THIS YEAR please do yourself a favor and call the 800# to make sure they didn't forget you. That number is 1-800-827-1000.

The other reason I'm posting here is to let everyone know that I will be monitoring this site a lot more. I may not be able to post much but if I see any questions I think I can help answer I will do the research I need to do to help out a fellow vet.

As of yesterday my battle with the VA is done. It wasn't hard and I will never claim it was. It just took a little patience and a lot of bullshit. I learned as much as I could and then refiled some of my claims. Before yesterday I was already at 80% as of yesterday I am now 100%.

Since I'm done and I get to relax I'd like to help anyone out who needs it. It's the least I can do for the site that kept me going when I had to learn to walk and keep my balance all over again. Any question you have please ask. I will do whatever I can to help.

Hope everyone is well.

Do we have to file a tax return to receive that stimulus check?

I have not received a letter from the VA about this money.

I generally do not have to file a return, as I live on my VA pension (100% service connected, combat related).

Thanks.

Let me go back and read some things about this check. I don't believe you have to file a return to receive it but I'll do some more digging. If you could give 1-800-827-1000 a call it would probably be very helpful for you, if just to touch base and make sure they're planning on getting you that money.

The check is only going to veterans living in the united states or it's territories.

Well that's just great.

Whatever. It is not like I am sitting on my front porch every day before going to the dollar store to spend my food stamps.
