Introduction

Post by ctm88 »

Rangers,

My name is Cole, and I'm 20 years old. I am living in Lake Wylie, SC and currently enrolled in school at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC for my second semester of college. The Army has been playing on my mind since I graduated from high school but I am now completely confident in my choice to join the Army. I have a GT score of 114 and currently following a PT regimen. Looking to sign an 11x/opt40 contract this December, and ideally ship out towards February. I greatly appreciate the information provided on this web site and will continue to soak it up. Thanks.

Rangers,

Had my father help administer a PT test for me and here are the results.

35 push-ups (Army standard)
44 sit-ups
14:43 2 mile

Piss poor performance on my part and I am somewhat disappointed in myself. I knew I wasn't going to be able to slam myself on the ground and knock out a hundred but giving myself this PT test and seeing the results made me just that much more motivated.

You're right that is a piss poor job! Just keep doing PT everyday if you keep going and never your PT score will get better, but you have to work hard! Good luck and again NEVER QUIT!

*Update*

Rangers,

I'm sorry to bump this thread up but I failed to continue through with my choice to join the Army. After speaking with my recruiter, and father who was in the Army, it was suggested that I completely eliminate my credit card debt before going to MEPS (my debt may pose problems concerning the required security clearance). I am almost completely done with my payments and looking forward to signing some papers. I am also continuing with my current PT regimen.

*Update"

Rangers,

Next Monday I go in to take my initial piss test with the recruiter. As far as I know, all of my paperwork prior to processing has been completed and there is still the option 40 available. If all goes well I will be going to my MEPS location to get myself all checked up. With everyday comes more anxiousness, just ready to get this show on the road. I want to work, and get my shit.

Once again, I appreciate the knowledge from you all that I have gained just through the clicks of a button. I understand that at one time, there was a young man much like myself that didn't have the resources that I do now, and went on to achieve great things through the unknown. Thinking about this, makes me realize just how lucky I am. Thank You.
