Finished OSUT Sitrep

Post by alex03209 »

Hello Rangers,

I'm done my OSUT and am now a proud member of the U.S. Army Infantry. I'm currently home on christmas leave and Hometown Recruiting.

Overall I'm left feeling like I've learned a good amount of discipline and I have learned some valuable lessons during my 4 months at Ft. Benning. I am also in the best shape of my life. Also on that note I would like to say to all the guys getting ready to go through basic you need to do PT on your own above and beyond your morning PT. I felt like we didn't focus enough on running during our basic training. In order to make up for this I have gone running 5 miles a day on average about 4 times a week since I've been home. That coupled with the decreased caloric intake since basic training has made me lose about 5 pounds in two weeks. That was not very desirable since I'm a little underweight as it is.

I just wanted to check in and say that I'm still driving on and can't wait to begin the next stage of my journey. I am expecting to spend some time in Airborne hold so I'll make sure to drop in with another Sitrep on how things are going. I'll make sure to check in with XCRunner and Goarmystrong. I'm pretty sure XCRunner was in Foxtrot which graduated the week before me and I'm willing to guess Goarmystrong was in echo 2/58 with me. If so I already talked to him. Can't wait to keep driving on next week! Hope everyone is having happy holidays.

Congrats, don't forget to PT over leave, its easier to lose everything than it is to gain it back. Keep your eyes focused on the objective.
